    • ENTERING ENTRIES
      • Use shoe coverings if provided. Please, no bare feet in homes.
    • PHOTOGRAPHY
      • Ask permission to take photos. In this age of social media and digital phones, it is tempting to snap a photo of anything that interests you. Please ask the builder, contractor or Realtor working the home for permission first. And remember, floorplans and unique home layouts can present a copyright concern.

      • Please obey parking laws.
      • Do not park in the driveways of entries or block driveways of occupied homes.
  • Can children attend the Parade of Homes?

Yes, but please keep them close. Many entries are beautifully staged with fragile decor.
  • Why are some Parade of Homes entry prices different on this website than in the magazine?

The sale prices listed are based on market conditions at the time of the magazine publication. If the builder has requested an update since the magazine was published, their home entry will include a note in the home description. Please be aware that sudden price increases may occur. Pricing of a home should always be confirmed prior to entering into any contract.
  • What is the Building Industry Association of the Red River Valley?

In mid-January, Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead officially became the Building Industry Association of the Red River Valley and unveiled new colors and  logos. The Association has organized the Parade of Homes events and RRV Home & Garden Show for over 60 years.

In 2023, the Association’s leadership made renaming and rebranding the organization a high priority. Leaders believe this name change better-represents the  organization’s scope and vision, positioning the BIA to continue expanding membership growth, be inclusive and forward-looking.

The Association was established in 1956. The bylaws were updated in 2008 to encompass commercial builders and commercial-construction-related companies. Over the years the membership that the BIA serves has broadened to include more than the residential (home) building/remodeling industry, and our advocacy efforts include commercial construction.

The BIA’s vision is to nurture thriving, innovative, diverse housing and building industries in our community. It is a nonprofit trade association of over 700 members. In addition to the show, the Association hosts Parade of Homes events in the spring and fall.

The Association supports the interests of its members which are located throughout Cass and Clay counties and beyond.

    It offers benefits such as:

    Advocacy
On behalf of the building industry, BIA-RRV advocates to change, defeat and adopt legislation that promotes safe attainable housing. The Association stays involved in local, state and national legislation through several different means including its Public Issues Committee, Candidate Forums, meeting with elected officials and city staff, and planned visits to the capital, to name a few.

    Workforce Development
Joining forces with our charity, Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead Foundation, BIA-RRV works to promote building industry careers to students and potential industry workers. In order to inspire the future workforce, the Association helps organize the Herdina Construction Trades Camp. This two-week summer academy for high school students teaches them about various careers in the trades while providing college credit.

    Information & Education
BIA-RRV provides a wealth of resources and information for its members, offering access to monthly building permit reports and keeping them up to date with pressing issues facing the homebuilding industry. Professional development is a priority to BIA-RRV members. From designations, specialized industry-related training and continuing education required by law, the Education Committee delivers quality professional development opportunities.

    Connections
Each year, BIA-RRV hosts a lineup of events to engage and educate members, including two golf outings, the New Year Celebration, BIA Happy Hours the High Noon Shootout and more. There is something for everyone! BIA-RRV has a dedicated group of volunteers who donate time to serve on committees. These individuals help carry out the Association’s mission to industry peers and the community.

    Marketing
Members can advertise through BIA-RRV to consumers or business-to-business, utilizing its variety of publications, digital opportunities and consumer events. Offering a variety of sponsorship opportunities for consumer events and members-only events, staff works to accommodate all members’ budgets and needs.
